For this game I was tasked to come up with the mascot characters from concept to final animation. There were no requirements for the number of polygons. This video shows the character without the subdivision command applied. The following videos show the characters smoothed with subdivisions.

This is a good example of the rig that I create for humanoid characters. It’s set up with inverse kinematics for walking which can be keyed to turn on and off.

In this video I’m turning on the subdivisions to smooth the models. All three characters in this file are referenced to another Maya file of the boy character. The reference character has all three hair styles and the glasses included.

The musical instruments were modeled and textured by the talented Ty Romsa.

Here are a few more animation videos of the two characters. In the end, these animations were rendered from Maya with alpha and prepared with an aliased edge on green keyed to be transparent. This was done with an action in Photoshop.
